        ‘Break My Heart 1,000 Times’ written by author Daniel Waters is a horror genre novel (As you read the title, you might think this book genre is romance but fret not it is actually a horror novel😂).This fiction novel might also adapted into a movie with different name. I'm not really sure but the way her dad sitting in the kitchen, reading newspaper and sipping tea look exactly the same like how the story in the book tell us.

        The main characters in the book are Veronica. She lived alone with her mom as her dad died at an event. They lived in a town full of ghost.I like the interaction between Veronica and Kirk which is one of her classmate. They are both 16 years old. They are sweet, care for each other, mature and brave. Not to forget Janine (veronica's bestie), she used to be a Tomboy but since she was chased by one of the ghost (image) in the woods, she freak out.

        This is my first English-language fiction book that I manage to finish reading. Once I started reading, i found it easy to understand as the book is written in simple English.I rarely find myself needing to look up many words in the dictionary, but yeah, it's normal to not know some of the words so reading this novel will increase your vocabulary. Horror genre is not my cup of tea but I enjoy reading the book as it contains some moral lessons. Firstly, it reminded me about death. Allah says in the Quran (21:35) meaning : Every soul will taste death. And We test you (O humanity) with good and evil as a trial, then to Us you will (all) be returned. Death is the biggest motivation for all of us to do good deeds in this dunya because having a second chance for living is 99.99% impossible and bear in mind that the punishment for those who do bad deeds are unbearable. Every little good or bad deeds are counted and we will be testify in the hereafter. Basically, you will only get this moral after fully reflecting on the context of reality today compared to the story, since the story isn't related to any kind of islamic value.

        'Break My Heart 1,000 Times' is also not too long and not too short (342 pages). Thus, I manage to finish reading it within two days. In conclusion, I would recommend this book to fans of horror, crime, thriller genre books. It might not be the best book that i've read, but it's worth reading as it tells a story with deep meanings that anyone can reflect on and learn something about. Attachment is not something that the heroin in the book likes because everyone will leave us, but attachment to the one and only god, Allah SWT, should be something we implement in our daily lives.
